Never get too attached to loan players.
You will only be hurt when all is said and done.
That will be true for Borussia Dortmund in relation to defender Achraf Hakimi.
The right-back had excelled on loan from Real Madrid until he broke his metatarsal during a clash with Wolfsburg.
He will remain at the Westfalenstadion until the end of the 2020/21 campaign but no longer.
According to AS, any hopes BVB had of retaining his services permanently have been extinguished.
Real Madrid have no intention of selling the 20-year-old, who will form a key part of their plans when he returns.
That will leave Dortmund looking for a new full-back when Hakimi’s loan spell ends in June 2020.
