Borussia Dortmund have announced the signing of Carney Chukwuemeka from Chelsea after spending the second half of the season on loan at the club.

The German side are reportedly paying around €25 million for the attacking midfielder, a deal which will include a sell-on clause.

Chukwuemeka has signed a five-year deal with the Bundesliga side and will wear the number 17 shirt.

"It feels really good to be an integral part of BVB now," the 21-year-old said about making his move to the club permanent.

"I have gotten to know this club, the coach, my teammates and the fans over the past few months and am just happy that Borussia Dortmund is now my new football home. I will do everything I can to ensure that we achieve our goals as a team."

The former Aston Villa academy product had played 32 games during his time at Stamford Bridge, scoring twice.

Chukwuemeka's arrival is likely to be followed by Argentinian defender Aarón Anselmino, who is also set to make the move from Chelsea to Borussia Dortmund.
