As reported by Bild, Borussia Dortmund face competition from Manchester City for Norwegian midfielder Sverre Nypan.
It is understood that BvB have been actively pursuing the 18-year-old’s signature for a number of months, and with just twelve months remaining on his deal at Rosenborg BK, a move this summer is expected.
However, whether it will be Dortmund unveiling Nypan this summer is yet to be seen.
Pep Guardiola’s side are keen on luring Nypan over to the Premier League, and with a valuation of €15-20 million, the teenager is considered to be a bargain.
Nypan has already made over 70 appearances for Rosenborg, despite his tender age, registering 14 goals and 11 assists during this time.
While the 18-year-old often features as an attacking midfielder, he can also be deployed in central midfield and as a centre-forward.
This versatility is something that both Dortmund and Manchester City appreciate, but the Citizens may be ahead of Dortmund in the race to land his signing.
The eight-time Premier League champions can offer Nypan a far more attractive salary, and with Erling Haaland already at the Etihad Stadium, the 18-year-old would also be able to play alongside his future national team partner.
Dortmund have been hopeful of securing this deal, but now Die Schwarzgelben are looking at potential alternatives.
