Bordeaux striker Josh Maja seeing widespread interest, wants England return

As reported by L’Équipe, Nigerian international striker Josh Maja is close to an exit at Bordeaux this month having suffered through injuries and a lack of game time under various coaches since his move from Sunderland in summer 2019.

Bordeaux have been approached by several teams over a loan deal but the French club continue to favour a permanent deal. Birmingham City, who had offered a loan deal, and Blackburn Rovers lead a group of Championship clubs interested in the player while Serie A club Venezia and Alaves of La Liga as well as two MLS clubs have also enquired for the player.

Maja, however, the sports daily say, is only interested in a return to England as FCGB look to take his €90,000 gross monthly salary off their wage bill.
