Bordeaux Communicate Liverpool Owners FSG’s Position, Prepare For Demotion | OneFootball

French side Bordeaux have confirmed that Liverpool’s owners FSG have indicated again they will not follow through with interest in buying the club, who will now drop into the third tier.

Liverpool’s owners FSG are looking to buy another club as they commence with a multi-club model favoured by a number of their rivals.

They have been holding talks with French giants Bordeaux, but recently pulled out due to a number of concerns.

Bordeaux and the city authorities made some recent guarantees if the takeover went ahead, but the French side have confirmed that FSG have again declined to proceed, with confirmation coming on Monday.

As such, Bordeaux will no longer appeal their demotion into the third tier.

They are set to play in the French National league next term.

FSG’s interest in Bordeaux looks to be at an end barring an unexpected late turnaround of events.

The club still have to present their budget for the forthcoming season to the French authorities as they seek to be admitted to the third tier and start the process of rebuilding.
