Bop Gueye has signed his first European contract with Sarpsborg 08 this Tuesday, August 5, 2025. Voted the best young player of the 2024/25 Senegalese Ligue 1 season, the Senegalese midfielder has committed until 2029 with the Norwegian top-flight club.

Bop Gueye has left Oslo Football Academy to join Norway, where he's stepping up to a new level of football. Capable of playing multiple positions (central midfielder, attacking midfielder, and winger), the 18-year-old shone throughout last season in the Senegalese Premier Division. His all-around profile and room for growth convinced Sarpsborg's scouts, who see him as a bet for the future. His signing with Sarpsborg 08 is the result of a partnership established between the Norwegian club and the Senegalese academy.

"I am very happy right now. Sarpsborg 08 is a very good club and they welcomed me incredibly warmly. The club has taken great care of me from the very start. The intensity here is completely different from what I knew in Senegal. At the same time, I feel like I am making progress little by little every day. I know I have to be patient, but the only thing that will keep me moving forward is working hard every day to reach the next level. I really want to leave behind a great story at Sarpsborg and I will do everything in my power to make it happen," said Bop Gueye.
