Liverpool have been given a boost as Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Nat Phillips will be fit to face Fulham in the Premier League this weekend.

Phillips missed out on Liverpool’s 1-0 defeat to Chelsea on Thursday night with a minor knock. However, Klopp says he will be ready for the match on Sunday.

ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT

Phillips was a miss against Chelsea following his strong performance against Sheffield United last weekend. The defender recorded an impressive WhoScored rating of 7.11 against the Blades, winning an incredible seven aerial battles as he coped with Sheffield United’s attacks and helped to keep a clean sheet in the 2-0 win.

His return for the Fulham game is also a big boost given the potential loss of Ozan Kabak to injury. Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Kabak suffered a knock against Chelsea and is now set to watch on from the sidelines as the Reds face Fulham. Fabinho lined up at centre-back alongside Kabak in the defeat to Thomas Tuchel’s side, which means that Fabinho and Phillips could be the centre-back pairing Klopp goes with.

Hopefully, Phillips can come back into the side and keep up his fine form this season. He has averaged a WhoScored rating of 6.95 in his eight Premier League appearances this season, showing that he has been a reliable option whenever he has been called upon by Klopp.
