As reported by HBVL, Sint-Truiden’s captain Toni Leistner has returned to training. The former QPR and Union Berlin central defender has been out of action for a number of weeks with Achilles tendon injury. 32-year-old Leistner went back to Germany for his rehabilitation, but was back in training on Wednesday for the Canaries.

Leistner joined the club on a free last season from Hamburg and has been ever present for Bernd Hollerbach, who made the experienced German defender captain. Leistner has made 21 appearances in the league this season, scoring once. Sint-Truiden are one of the best defensive sides in the league, having conceded just 28 goals in 25 games. They are just behind top sides like Genk, Antwerp and Union St Gilloise in terms of goals conceded.

Sint-Truiden host Westerlo this weekend, with the recently promoted side one of their competitors for play-off two. Westerlo were involved in a crazy 3-3 draw with Gent last weekend in which new Buffaloes signing Gift Orban scored twice on debut.
