Manchester United fans not to face quarantine at Europa League final

According to Sky Sports, Manchester United fans need not worry about being quarantined if they are travelling for the Europa League final in Gdansk, Poland.

The Red Devils will face off against Spanish side Villarreal in the showpiece event later this month. A win will see us lift our first trophy since winning the same competition in 2017.

UEFA has announced that up to 9500 supporters will be able to attend this season’s final. This will see 25% of Stadion Miekski filled.

Of the 9500 seats made available, 6000 have been allocated for supporters. However, only 2000 will be given to each team, with the rest being put on general sale.

While fans returning to the United Kingdom will have to quarantine upon arrival, they need not do so upon travelling to Gdansk. An update on the Gdansk Airport website has confirmed that those travelling will not need to take a test.

The fans arriving from the UK will take a test prior to their flight. Fans travelling from the Schengen zone of Europe are subject to these relaxations while those coming in from other countries are not.

Having fans back in attendance is a welcome event that to some semblance restores normalcy. The pandemic is, however, far from over and we will be wise to remember that fact. Necessary caution will have to be exercised by those going on to cheer the men in red.
