Inter Milan midfielder Kristjan Asllani has reportedly recovered from his injury scare to make himself available for selection against Genoa.
The Nerazzurri will begin their Serie A title defense campaign in an away fixture at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium on Saturday evening.
Over the past few days, there have been some concerns over Asllani’s condition. The Albanian has been suffering from muscle fatigue and was training separately during the week.
Nevertheless, FcInterNews has some reassuring updates for Inter supporters.
The source reveals that the former Empoli man has managed to overcome the physical issue that hampered him this week.
The young midfielder will thus join his teammates on the trip to Genoa.
Asllani is unlikely to feature in the starting lineup. After all, Hakan Calhanoglu remains Simone Inzaghi’s ultimate first choice for the deep-lying playmaker.
Yet, the Albanian’s return is significant, as it would boost the depth in the middle of the park, especially with Piotr Zielinski still unavailable.
The Pole sustained a muscular problem during the pre-season. Hence, the source reveals that the 30-year-old is still undergoing personalized training, albeit at a high pace.
The former Napoli star will thus have to wait a bit longer to make his debut for his new club following his summer transfer.
For his part, Stefan de Vrij underwent personalized therapy on Friday. The Dutchman remains out of action.
The same goes for Tajon Buchanan who sustained a serious injury during his stay with the Canadian national team earlier this summer.
The wingback will remain on the sidelines until December or even January.
