Bolton Wanderers manager Ian Evatt was aware of Cheltenham loanee Daniel N’Lundulu before he signed for The Robins.

Bolton will be hoping to not get stung by former transfer target N’Lundulu this Saturday. The Southampton loanee was seemingly a target for the club after their promotion to League One.

The Trotters’ interest in the striker last term wouldn’t come to fruition, with N’Lundulu joining Lincoln City on loan instead, before another loan spell joining Cheltenham in January.

The striker is now beginning to shine with The Robins after a hamstring injury saw him play just four games in his first spell with the club.

Cheltenham currently sit 22nd in the league table but Evatt believes they can’t be taken lightly, boasting some impressive players that the Wanderers will have to do their homework on, including former target N’Lundulu.

As quoted by The Bolton News, Evatt would comment on this saying: “Alfie May is a good threat, (Daniel) N’Lundulu is a player that we were aware of and looked at last season. They have good players all along the pitch, really.”

N’Lundulu is definitely on form for The Robins heading into Saturday’s match, scoring two in his last three, having come away with Cheltenham’s goal of the month for August.

N’Lundulu is a dangerous player that Evatt may just wish he had in his squad after an impressive start to the season for the striker. Cheltenham do sit 22nd in the table and it’s likely that players such as N’Lundulu and Alfie May will be key to their survival hopes.

As he points out, Evatt will have to be cautious of the duo heading into Saturday with the side likely throwing everything at the game after having only won one league game all season.

Wade Elliott’s men have seen an upturn in form, winning two of their last four in all competitions and just narrowly losing to Oxford in that time, showing the side can’t be taken lightly.

N’Lundulu would certainly have bolstered Bolton’s attack last season if a deal had been completed, though for now Evatt will have to prepare for him as an opponent.
