Championship side Blackpool and League One outfit Bolton Wanderers are the latest clubs to join the race to sign New Zealander Oliver Colloty.

That is according to Alan Nixon via Patreon, who reports that the Seasiders cast eyes on the forward last week in training, meanwhile, the 19-year-old is set to head to Bolton Wanderers tomorrow.

Colloty has previously spent time at Sheffield Wednesday this month, as well as Fleetwood Town, as the young forward looks to convince a side he is worthy of snapping up whilst he is over in England.

Back in New Zealand, Colloty played in the NZ Northern and National League in 2022 with his club Melville United.

In the Northern League, Colloty bagged 14 goals in 22 appearances, whilst when stepping up into the National League phase, he continued his fine form, netting six times in nine matches.

It remains to be seen whether or not the youngster’s performances have been enough to convince the English clubs, nor indeed what sort of offers are potentially on the table if he has done.

Alan Nixon reports that the young Kiwi will make a decision on his future shortly.

The Verdict

With so many clubs casting eyes over him, it seems clear that the 19-year-old must have a degree of talent.

Whether he is good enough to come to England and compete in League One or even the Championship remains to be seen, though.

Having come over from New Zealand for these ‘trials’, what a story it would be if he were able to secure a deal for himself.

With a Championship side and some big clubs in Bolton and Sheffield Wednesday potentially to choose from, it could be an incredible move for the 19-year-old.
