According to Sky Sport Italia, Bologna striker Sydney van Hooijdonk has accepted a move to Norwich City and will be replaced by Jens Odgaard, but Verona no longer want Adam Idah.

The Canaries are in the English Championship – the equivalent of Serie B – and are in negotiations with a couple of Serie A teams for deals as we approach Thursday’s transfer deadline.

Bologna have already brought in centre-forward Santiago Castro from Velez Sarsfield, paying the full €10m of his release clause, and are set to secure Odgaard from AZ Alkmaar on loan with option to buy.

However, they must now make room and are discussing the Van Hooijdonk switch to Norwich City, on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.

He turns 24 next week and is the son of Pierre van Hooijdonk, but scored only one goal in 11 games for Bologna this season.

Sportitalia report that van Hooijdonk has accepted the Norwich move, so it is now just a matter of details between the clubs.

However, Norwich will not be sending striker Adam Idah to Hellas Verona, as Sky Sport Italia claim those negotiations have been abandoned.

The Republic of Ireland international turns 23 next month and has 20 senior caps for his country, scoring two goals.
