Bologna Star Hails Inter Milan Superstar As “Best In The World” In Position | OneFootball

Bologna midfielder Giovanni Fabbian feels that Inter Milan’s Nicolo Barella is the best player in the world in his position.

The 21-year-old hailed Barella in an interview published in the SportWeek insert in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Fabbian has been enjoying something of a breakout campaign in Serie A with Bologna.

The Italian youth team international joined the Rossoblu from Inter last summer.

Inter sold Fabbian to Bologna on a permanent basis. However, they have not given up control of the young midfielder’s future – there is a buyback option for the Nerazzurri.

Fabbian had previously shone at youth team levels for the Inter Primavera side.

Then last season, Fabbian burst onto the scene in senior football on loan at Reggina. He was the Calabrian team’s outstanding player in their Serie B campaign.

And now this time around, it is at Bologna where Fabbian has found the perfect environment in which to make the step up to the world of the Italian top flight.

Asked who he considers to be the best player in the world in his position, Fabbian named “Barella.”

“Because of the personality he plays with, and because he can do just about everything on the pitch.”

“And then also Bellingham,” the Bologna midfielder added. He cited the Real Madrid and England superstar’s “incredible technical quality.”

Meanwhile, Fabbian also hailed the influence of his coach from the Inter Primavera side, Christian Chivu.

“He influenced my style of play a lot,” he said of the Romanian.

“And I enjoyed listening to his stories as a former Inter player, particularly those about winning the Treble.”

Then, Fabbian spoke about his relationship with Bologna coach Thiago Motta.

Asked if it’s true that he was impressed by the coach and former Inter midfielder convincing him to join by listing qualities he needs to improve on, he said “These are things that should stay between the two of us.”

“But it’s true,” he continued. “In our first goal, he made it clear to me what he thought I should improve on.”
