Bologna midfielder Giovanni Fabbian has given his thoughts on his tumultuous summer, including Udinese and Inter Milan.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportItalia, via FCInterNews, Fabbian made clear that he is not dwelling upon the transfer saga that saw him on the verge of joining the Friulani before ultimately moving to Emilia-Romagna.

Over the summer, the transfer of Fabbian from Inter to Udinese had appeared to basically be a done deal.

The 20-year-old had been part of a deal between the Nerazzurri and the Friulani for the transfer of another young midfielder, Lazar Samardzic.

But Samardzic’s transfer to Inter broke down in spectacular fashion.

There was no shortage of controversy, as the Udinese midfielder even underwent his medical with Inter before the Nerazzurri pulled out of the deal over disagreements with his representatives.

Whilst the Samardzic saga was a high-profile transfer soap opera in Serie A, the role that Fabbian played in it got a bit lost in the mix.

The Italian Under-21 international had looked set to make the move to Udinese. There, he could start to plant his flag in senior football after shining with Inter’s Primavera team.

But after the Samardzic deal collapsed, so did the one to send Fabbian to Udine.

But that did not mean that Fabbian did not leave Inter. Instead, the Nerazzurri agreed a deal with Bologna.

And it has looked to be a good move for the 20-year-old.

The Rossoblu have been one of the surprise packages of the season under Thiago Motta.

And Fabbian has enjoyed a string of recent starts in Serie A under the former Inter, Paris Saint-Germain, and Barcelona midfielder.

Fabbian even scored his first ever goal in the Italian top flight. It was the former Nerazzurri midfielder who opened the scoring in a recent win over Torino for Bologna.

Fabbian remarked that “It’s great to get the season off to this kind of a start.”

“The important thing now is that I keep giving my all for Bologna.”

And as far as his failed transfer to Udinese, Fabbian said that “It went how it went. I don’t think about it anymore.”

He was keen to stress that “The past is the past. The important thing now it’s thinking about this season.”

And regarding the prospect of eventually going back to Inter, Fabbian stated that “We’ll see. Time will tell.”
