The primary target is midfielder Ugrinic, who is 26 years old and has three senior caps for Switzerland.

He scored three goals with five assists in 36 league appearances last season.

His contract only runs to June 2026, so Young Boys know that they have to sell or risk losing him as a free agent.

Another Bologna candidate in the same squad is right-back Athekame, who is seen as an alternative to first choice Alessandro Zanoli of Napoli.

Udinese have also been linked with the 20-year-old, who is a regular for Switzerland at Under-21 level with 10 caps.

Athekame only signed a new contract last month, so his deal with the Swiss club runs to June 2029.
