In a statement released today, Bologna confirmed that Thiago Motta will not sign a new contract with the club, allowing him to leave for free at the end of June, freeing him up to join Juventus.

Across his 75 matches in charge of the Rossoblu, the 41-year-old tactician won 35 matches, drew 23 and lost 17, averaging 1.71 points per game.

Bologna president Joey Saputo discussed the work of Thiago Motta, saying: “In these two years I have met a prepared and winning coach, who has given the team a brilliant playing identity.

“The achievement of qualifying for the Champions League consigns him and all the players to the history of our Club. I would have liked him to stay at Bologna, but I can only thank him and his staff for these wonderful seasons and wish him the best for the future.”
