Juan Román Riquelme is continuing to push for Roger Martínez to join Boca Juniors from América.
According to the player’s agent, Riquelme has been in direct contact with the striker.
“We know Boca’s interest and Román talks often with Roger,” Fernando López told Argentinian channel TyC Sports.
“They both would like to coincide in a football project at some point, despite the fact that no one from the club spoke to me.”
While not ruling out a move to the Buenos Aires giants, it seems the Colombia international has more immediate objectives for his career.
“Regarding Europe, Martínez is consistent and always said that his dream is to return there, beyond a call from Boca is a nice opportunity.”
The 26-year-old spent half a season on loan at Spanish side Villarreal in 2018.
