Chiamaka Nnadozie is among the five goalkeepers shortlisted for the 2025 Women's Yachine Trophy. On Thursday, August 7, France Football unveiled the nominees for this award, which honors the best female goalkeeper of the year. The 24-year-old Nigerian shot-stopper thus becomes the first African representative to compete for this prestigious prize.
Nigerian international Chiamaka Nnadozie established herself as one of the world’s top keepers during the 2024-2025 season. At just 24, she made a huge impression by helping Nigeria clinch the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations title and played a decisive role in Paris FC’s surprise French Cup triumph. After transferring to Brighton in July, the Best Goalkeeper of the 2024 Women's AFCON continues her meteoric rise in England.
The Super Falcons’ keeper joins a star-studded shortlist featuring Ann-Katrin Berger (Gotham FC), Cata Coll (FC Barcelona), Hannah Hampton (Chelsea), and Daphne van Domselaar (Netherlands). This nomination marks a historic milestone for African women’s football in one of the most hotly contested Ballon d'Or categories.The Nigerian international left her mark on the 2024-2025 season with outstanding performances for Paris FC. Her crowning moment came in the final of the French Women's Cup against Paris Saint-Germain, where she saved two penalties in the shootout to secure the trophy for her team.
