Tottenham Hotspur have suffered a blow as the centre-back they are now chasing prefers to stay at his current club.
The north Londoners have been plagued with injuries in their backline and they have been trying to sign a central defender.
Archie Gray and Radu Dragusin have been playing as centre-backs in Ange Postecoglou’s side but they have struggled to cope with the pressure and now the Romanian is also injured.
So far, Spurs have only managed to sign young custodian Antonin Kinsky to address their goalkeeping problem.
AC Milan’s Fikayo Tomori is the centre-back they are very keen on and they have been looking to do a deal with the Rossoneri for his signature.
However, in a blow for Spurs, Tomori ‘wants to stay’ at AC Milan, according to Sky Italia.
Tomori is focused on AC Milan’s weekend derby against Inter Milan and is not thinking about a transfer at this stage.
Spurs will have to work overtime to convince him that his future lies back in the Premier League and not in Serie A, where he has been happy and settled.
