Blow for Flamengo as Oscar's return to Brazil blocked by Shanghai Port

The rumour mill has suggested Flamengo will sign Brazilian attacker Oscar but new updates show that may not be the case.

According to a report from Globo late on Monday, the 30-year-old’s current club Shanghai Port opted to not release the player all but blocking the move.

Oscar was pictured in a Flamengo jersey a few weeks ago with additional reports claiming the Brazilian had already reached a salary agreement with him.

However, no agreement was met with the Chinese club suggesting negotiations will have to restart during the winter window.

While with Shanghai Port, Oscar registered 51 goals and 94 assists in 173 appearances and has experience in the Premier League (Chelsea) and Brasileiro Série A (Internacional and São Paulo).
