Ajax host FC Twente on Saturday and it’s been an unfortunate first half for the Dutch giants.

The visitors have dominated the field in Amsterdam and have a significant advantage heading into the next 45 minutes.

Ajax defender Devyne Rensch denied a clear goal-scoring opportunity yet was injured in the process after taking a boot to the face.

The 19-year-old was subsequently stretchered off with the injury and shown a red card as well.

Ajax must now play the entire second half with a man down and will hope Rensch’s injury isn’t a long-term concern – especially with De Klassieker up next.

The mountain to climb just got even bigger for manager Alfred Schreuder as Twente have a huge opportunity to stun Amsterdam.
