There has already been some significant business done by Blackburn Rovers in the January transfer window.

In terms of incomings, left-back Ben Chrisene and midfielder Yasin Ayari have joined on loan until the end of the season from Aston Villa and Brighton respectively.

Meanwhile, club captain Lewis Travis has left to join Ipswich Town on loan until the end of the season, while Bournemouth centre-back James Hill has been recalled from his loan spell at Ewood Park by his parent club.

As a result, there is still plenty of business to be done for Blackburn in the window, as they look to add to a squad that needs a lift, after taking just four points from their last nine Championship games.

So with that in mind, we've taken a look at the latest Blackburn Rovers transfer news to have emerged recently, right here.

Sam Gallagher bids rejected

It was reported last week that Blackburn have rejected two offers from Ipswich Town for the signing of Sam Gallagher, with those offers thought to be worth £1million and £1.5million.

Blackburn boss Jon Dahl Tomasson has since suggested he would be reluctant to lose the striker this month, given his desire to add to, rather than reduce his squad.

However, with Gallagher currently one of the club's highest earners, whose contract is set to expire at the end of this season - albeit with an option to extend by a further 12 months - and given he is only just returning from four months out through injury, a new offer would surely give the club plenty to think about, especially given the importance of raising funds if they are to make new signings.

Another Blackburn striker attracting interest in the current transfer window, is Niall Ennis, who only joined from Plymouth back in the summer.

The 24-year-old has been hampered by injuries and fitness issues since arriving at Ewood Park, making just 13 appearances in all competitions, with his only goal coming on debut in a League Cup win over Walsall.

As a result, he could seemingly be on the move again this month, with League One trio Barnsley, Blackpool and Bolton Wanderers all credited with an interest in the striker. It is thought that a move has not been ruled out, but that no deal is currently imminent either, with the situation described as "fluent", suggesting this may be influenced by other deals the club may or may not be able to do.

Charlie Cresswell pursuit

Hill's departure combined with the worst defensive record in the Championship means it looks as though Blackburn will indeed need reinforcements in the centre of defence this month.

Now it seems as though the club are willing to take action in order to address that issue, with journalist Alan Nixon claiming that Blackburn are ready to make a move to buy Leeds United centre-back Charlie Cresswell.

However, it is stated that Millwall - where Cresswell had time on loan last season - are also keen, while Leeds have apparently placed a £4million valuation on the 21-year-old, which would not be easy for Rovers to afford, meaning this could be a challenging deal for them to complete as things stand.

Preston in Isaac Hayden talks

One potential Blackburn target who could potentially be on the move elsewhere this month, is Isaac Hayden.

Earlier in the window, it was reported that Rovers were among the Championship clubs interested in a move for the Newcastle United midfielder, amid his struggles on loan at Standard Liege.

But while the 28-year-old has since been recalled from that spell in Belgium, opening the door for another move, it seems Blackburn may not be his next destination, with the latest updates from The Daily Telegraph claiming that Preston are now in talks over a deal to sign the midfielder, meaning this is one pursuit that could end in frustration for the Ewood Park club.
