Blackburn Rovers have completed the signing of midfielder Faith Nokuthula according to reports on the Lancashire club’s official website.

The 20-year-old joins Gemma Donnelly’s side on a free transfer after recently leaving former club Brighton & Hove Albion.

Nokuthula came through the youth ranks at Barclays Women’s Super League club Tottenham Hotspur before joining Brighton & Hove Albion’s WSL Academy League side back in 2019. She has been a regular for The Seagulls at WSL Academy League level since joining the club. Nokuthula was the second-highest appearance maker for Brighton & Hove Albion in last season’s WSL Academy League, she enjoyed 20 league outings for The Seagulls in which she scored two goals.

At first team level, Nokuthula has made a couple of appearances for Brighton & Hove Albion in the domestic cups. The player was a substitute for a handful of Barclays Women’s Super League fixtures over the last couple of seasons but never made her league debut for the club.

Nokuthula becomes Blackburn Rovers boss Donnelly’s second signing of the summer transfer window. The player follows former Liverpool youngster Evie Smith to The Sir Tom Finney Stadium. The Rovers squad remains a little thin on numbers therefore it is highly likely that manager Donnelly will make more new additions before the end of the month.
