Blackburn Rovers have completed the signing of defender Eve Clarkson on a free transfer.

The Lancashire side announced news of the transfer via a post on their official club X account this evening.

Born in Whalley, Lancashire, Clarkson spent her youth in the Blackburn Rovers Regional Talent Centre (RTC) before progressing to the fringes of the senior team. The defender made her senior debut for the club towards the end of the 2017/2018 campaign in the FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division.

Clarkson did not get the opportunity to play Barclays Women’s Championship football for Blackburn Rovers. She moved to the United States where she combined studying with playing football at the University of the Incarnate Word.

The player returned to the UK last season and she had a short spell with former Barclays Women’s Championship club Lewes. Clarkson made three appearances for the Sussex club in all competitions.

Clarkson has unfinished business with childhood club Blackburn Rovers and she will be hoping to help Simon Parker’s side enjoy another successful season in 2024/2025.

The defender is Blackburn Rovers’ sixth signing of the summer transfer window. The club are expected to make further additions to their squad in the coming weeks.
