Blackburn Rovers have the edge over Strasbourg and Rayo Vallecano for Bournemouth goalkeeper Mark Travers, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.
John Eustace has been looking to bring in a new custodian and a number of goalkeepers have been linked with going to Ewood Park.
The Championship side have explored several options, but are now settled on landing Travers from Bournemouth.
Travers has interest from French side Strasbourg and Spanish outfit Rayo Vallecano, however Blackburn lead the race.
Blackburn are now ‘closing in’ on the goalkeeper on a loan deal.
The 25-year-old came through the youth set-up at Bournemouth and has been sent out on a series of loan spells by the Cherries.
Travers has spent time at Weymouth, Swindon Town and, most recently, Stoke City.
Blackburn could now be the shot-stopper’s new home for this season and it is unclear if there will be an option to buy included in the agreement.
