Blackburn Rovers attacker Farah Crompton has signed professional terms with the Barclays Women’s Championship club for next season.

The Lancashire club provided their latest squad update via a post on their official website this morning.

The 20-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough season at The Sir Tom Finney Stadium in 2021/2022 after re-joining the club for a second spell. Crompton featured in all 22 Barclays Women’s Championship games for Gemma Donnelly’s side, scoring her first senior goal in Blackburn Rovers’ 3-2 home victory over Coventry United last October. The attacker, who likes to operate out wide, made 26 appearances for her side in total across the campaign.

Crompton is a talented player who could go on to enjoy a successful career in the game and she will now have the opportunity to impress manager Donnelly further after extending her stay at The Sir Tom Finney Stadium.

Blackburn Rovers have been busy agreeing professional terms with a number of their 2021/2022 squad members in recent weeks. Crompton is the seventh player to commit her immediate future to the Lancashire club. The forward follows teammates Hannah Coan, Alex Brooks, Helen Seed, Emma Doyle, Lauren Thomas and Ellie Leek in signing a professional deal with Blackburn Rovers for the new Barclays Women’s Championship season.
