Rovers endured a rather difficult 2023/24 season, as they were entangled in a relegation battle for the majority of the season.

Meanwhile, Bristol City started the season off rather steadily, and midway through the campaign, it was Liam Manning who took over the reins at the club after Nigel Pearson’s exit.

So both sides had very different seasons, as Blackburn secured their Championship status on the final day, while the Robins finished 11th with 62 points, 11 adrift of the play-offs.

But despite the difference in campaigns, it seems John Eustace and Manning are keen to add a new striker to their ranks, and Motherwell’s Bair is on that list.

Blackburn and Bristol City are interested in signing Theo Bair

Theo Bair has been with Scottish side Motherwell for just a single season, as he joined the club on a free transfer last summer.

The forward played for St. Johnstone for 18 months before joining Motherwell, as he arrived in Scotland in January 2022 from Vancouver.

The 24-year-old had spent the majority of his time in America before moving to Scotland, and it wasn’t until this season that the goals started to flow in.

Bair has been in sensational form for Motherwell, so much so that he has now attracted interest from the Championship.

According to the Daily Mail, Blackburn Rovers and Bristol City are interested in signing Bair from Motherwell this summer.

The report states that as well as these two clubs showing interest in the striker, other sides have said to have compiled reports on Bair.

It goes on to add that Bair has one year remaining on his deal, and given his form this season, it could cost any interested side £800,000 and above to sign the player.

As mentioned, this 2023/24 season has been one to remember for Theo Bair, as he netted 13 goals in 33 Scottish Premiership games.

As well as the goals in the league, the forward also scored two goals in four Premiership relegation matches, meaning he finishes the season with 15 goals in all competitions this season.

That is an impressive figure for the 24-year-old, given that he scored just once for St. Johnstone in his time at the club. While he also wasn’t prolific during his time playing in the USA.

So Bair is coming off the back of an excellent season, and with 12 months left on his contract, it seems interest could be gathering pace ahead of the summer transfer window.

Theo Bair would be a risky signing for Blackburn or Bristol City

There is no doubt that the 2023/24 season was an excellent one for Theo Bair on a personal level, but it would still be a gamble for Blackburn or Bristol City to sign him.

This is because it is being reported that it could cost at least £800,000 to sign the striker, and that is a big amount of money for a player who has scored on a regular basis just in one season.

So it could turn out to be an excellent addition for either club, but given the figure that is being mentioned, it is a big risk for either club to part with this amount of money for a player who has never played in English football before.
