Netherlands-based Oskar Zawada is attracting attention from a trio of Championship outfits
Blackburn Rovers, QPR and Oxford United are all reportedly in the hunt for Polish striker Oskar Zawada.
The 29-year-old is currently plying his trade for RKC Waalwijk, who at the time sit in the relegation zone of the Eredivisie - the top flight of Dutch football.
And despite his contract not expiring at the Mandemakers Stadion until next summer, Zawada could be set to exit the club as they look set to exit Netherlands' top flight, and he could trade it in with a move to England.
According to a report from Dutch publication SoccerNews, a trio of current Championship outfits are in the running for Zawada's services this summer.
The 29-year-old has been Waalwijk's shining light in the 2024-25 season despite their lowly position, scoring nine times in the Eredivisie since his move from Wellington Phoenix of the Australian A-League.
And that scoring form has alerted English clubs to the 6ft 3in attacker, with Blackburn Rovers one of the clubs keen on Zawada, despite having both Makhtar Gueye and Yuki Ohashi contracted for next season.
QPR are another club that are keen on Zawada, with their current options consisting of Zan Celar and Michael Frey, as well as youngsters Alfie Lloyd and Rayan Kolli.
The Hoops and Rovers are joined by Oxford United for the striker's services, with the U's status in the division not yet secure for 2025-26.
Oxford signed Ole Romeny from Dutch side Utrecht in the January transfer window, and they are looking to potentially raid a club on the other side of the North Sea once more this coming summer.
In his debut season in the Eredivisie, Zawada has scored nine times, as well as adding a further two goals in the KNVB Beker.
Prior to that move, Zawada had netted 22 times in 40 A-League matches for the aforementioned Wellington Phoenix, which was better than a one in two record, but in a jet-setting career where he's also played in Poland, South Korea and Germany, he's struggled to get regular goals and game-time elsewhere.
That was until his move to Waalwijk, where he is the main man at the top end of the pitch and also club captain, although it remains to be seen as to whether RKC can be tempted to cash in on him this summer should they be relegated.
