Björn Kuipers will referee Real Madrid-Borussia Mönchengladbach | OneFootball

Björn Kuipers will referee the Champions League matchday six encounter between Real Madrid and Borussia Mönchengladbach at the Alfredo Dí Stéfano Stadium (Wednesday, 9pm CET). The Dutchman will oversee a match involving Zidane's team in this competition for the seventh time.

The first time he refereed Real Madrid was in the 2011/12 season, in the first leg of the round of 16 match against CSKA in Moscow (1-1). In 2012/2013 he was in charge of the first leg of the semi-finals against Borussia Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park (4-1) and in the 2013/14 season he refereed the final of the Tenth European Cup against Atletico Madrid (4-1).

In 2017/18 he oversaw the Real Madrid win in the Group Stage matchday two game against Borussia Dortmund (1-3) and in the first leg of the semi-finals in Munich against Bayern (1-2). The last time he refereed Real Madrid was in the 2018/19 season, when the Whites beat Roma 3-0 at the Santiago Bernabéu, in the first match of the Champions League Group Stage.
