A bizarre story is emerging out of Romania, where former Barcelona player Edgar Le is being accused of fraud. The 30-year-old is under suspicion of having sent his twin brother Edelino Le to play for Dinamo Bucharest.

Le is an international for Guinea-Bissau, and since his debut under Luis Enrique with Barcelona has passed through the ranks at Villarreal, Lille, Feyenoord, Nantes, Trabzonspor and then Basaksehir before signing for Dinamo this summer. Yet as detailed by Emmanuel Rosu, there are doubts over whether they have the right Le.

So far there has been no official statements from Dinamo, but the fact that their central defender cannot speak English and has refused to show them his driving licence has aroused their suspicions. As per Marca, if the unprecedented situation is confirmed, then Dinamo could lose the eight points they gained with Edelino in the side over five games.

While Edgar has spent much of his career bouncing around Europe’s top divisions, Edelino signed for Resende in Portugal after leaving Sporting CP’s academy. His last known team was Tluchowia Tluchow in Poland. They say a DNA test could be used to confirm his identity.
