Fernandes, who turned 30 on Sunday, helped Portugal draw level against Scotland after a staggering 19 shots. The darting strike from outside the box goes down as his 24th international goal.
Meanwhile, Modrić also found the back of the net mere hours away from celebrating his 39th birthday on Monday.
The Croatian captain stepped up and broke the deadlock against Poland with a sublime free-kick into the top corner. It was his 27th international goal on his 180th cap.
