Birmingham’s Lucy Quinn hit a dramatic 97th-minute goal to stun Sheffield United. The Blades struck on the break in first-half stoppage-time, Alethea Paul with the assist for Courtney Sweetman-Kirk. Louise Quinn replied from a ball by Siobhan Wilson and deep into added time Lucy Quinn blasted in the second.

Bristol City opened up a five-point lead at top, with a goal in either half at Charlton. Shania Hayles scored via a Chloe Mustaki corner, the points were sealed midway through the second half when Ffion Morgan hit home a Maddie Wilde cross.

Southampton edged Sunderland 1-0 to go level on points with second-plaed London City Lionesses, who were held to a goalless draw by Blackburn. Sunderland’s Emily Scarr hit the post early in the second half at St Mary’s, but the Saints were soon ahead as Ella Pusey prodded home Kate Wilkinson’s flick header. Abbie Holmes nearly equalised in added time but her effort was deflected over.

Crystal Palace got the only goal at Durham to climb to fourth in the table. Anna Filbey’s strike on 43 minutes might have been cancelled out before the break as Sarah Robson won a penalty but Beth Hepple hit the post.

Lewes went seventh when sending Coventry United to a seventh straight defeat. Emily Kraft turned in a through ball from Grace Palmer with 21 minutes to go.
