The Blues announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon.
The 18-year-old is a product of the Birmingham City academy system. The defender has featured heavily for the club’s Professional Game Academy League side and she has impressed first team boss Amy Merricks enough to be given the opportunity to develop in the senior squad. Locke made her senior debut for Blues in a Subway Women’s League Cup group stage fixture back in December while she has been included in the matchday squad on a handful of occasions.
Locke will now be hoping to progress further after signing her first professional terms with the club.
After signing on with Blues, Locke said “I can’t believe it, it’s a dream come true. As a little girl playing football, it’s what you want to do. It’s your dream job and achieving that is massive, I still can’t believe it. I just can’t wait to get started.
“Amy [Merricks] has made such an impact on me when I’ve stepped up [into the first team]. She’s pushed me and she knows that I can make an impact at that level. She’s pushed me and I can only thank her. The support has been unbelievable.”
Further Birmingham City squad news will be revealed in due course.
