The Blues announced news of the transfer via a post on their official club website earlier today.
Ferguson joins Birmingham City after leaving former club Watford at the end of last season. The player spent two seasons with The Golden Girls and was a FA Women’s National League Championship Play-Off Final winner with the Hertfordshire club in 2022/2023. Prior to her spell at Watford, Ferguson came through the youth system at Arsenal, although she never represented The Gunners at first team level.
Birmingham City now have four goalkeepers on their books. Ferguson joins Lucy Thomas, Charlotte Clarke and Lucy Jones at the Midlands club. Thomas and Clarke will continue to battle it out for the first-choice goalkeeping jersey this season with Ferguson immediately being loaned out to Stoke City to further her development. The player could be recalled from her loan if required throughout the season. The club’s other young keeper Jones is also playing her football out on loan in the FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division with West Bromwich Albion.
Ferguson could make her Stoke City debut when they travel to Stourbridge tomorrow.
