A weather-hit FA Women’s National League programme still had a 400-strong crowd at York City and Plate quarter-final places for Billericay Town and Crawley Wasps.

Tenth-placed Leek Town held Leafield Athletic to a draw, with the visitors going level on points with the sides in third and fourth place.

Middlesbrough moved up two places to fourth with a narrow win over basement side Bradford City. The visitors led until Boro struck twice late on, Fran Ward getting the winner. York City had over 400 in attendance and went down 3-0 to Norton, who consequently leapfrogged them in the table. Bianca Owens’ second-half opener was followed by a Sophie Tierney double.

Second-placed Bournemouth hit St Austell for six, with Lucy Cooper hitting an 18-minute first-half hat-trick before later taking her tally to four goals. Moneyfields climbed two places to fifth after a 4-1 defeat of Maidenhead United, who had equalised on half-time but Kau’inohea Taylor went on to notch a treble for the home side.

Southampton Women won 8-0 at Hounslow with braces for Hope Suominen and Gabri Tchuenkam, to set up a 2nd Round tie at home to Swindon Town. The winners of that then host Billericay Town, who eliminated QPR 6-3 aided by doubles from Zoe Rushen and Ruby Sealey.
Crawley Wasps advanced past Ashford Town 2-0 and now host Cheltenham Town in the quarter-finals. The Wasps got two late goals, as substitute Amelia Ajao’s effort from distance was added to by Cerys Jones in the last minute.
