Inter Milan are said to be intensifying their efforts to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Manuel Akanji, with German tabloid BILD claiming that they are willing to pay up to 30 million euros.

Akanji, 26, is set to leave the German vice champions this summer. His contract expires in 2023 and the Black and Yellows have added two high-profile centre-backs in Nico Schlotterbeck and Niklas Süle to their roster.

According to BILD, Inter have identified the Swiss defender as the perfect replacement for PSG-bound Milan Škriniar, claiming that the Nerazzurri are willing to make a concrete offer for Akanji once the Slovakia international has completed his move to the French capital.

Inter are willing to pay up to 30 million euros for Akanji, while BVB would be ready to listen to offers as low as 20 million. However, it remains to be seen if the 26-year-old would be happy to join a Serie A team considering his long-formulated wish to play in the Premier League.

FC Arsenal, Manchester United, Juventus and AC Milan have also shown interest in the pacey centre-back, but only Inter are reported to have taken more serious steps to acquire Akanji.
