MIAMI, Florida – Before national teams return to camp for international duty, the players from the leagues across Concacaf made sure to give fans great performances.

The regular season of the NWSL has every fan on the edge or their seat, as all the teams are making the playoff push for the six available spots.

The Houston Dash found victory again by downing Racing Louisville 1-0 on Friday afternoon. Both teams started strong, fighting to get the upper hand. Diana Ordonez in the 54' put her team in the lead with a header that came from a Maria Sanchez cross from the left side. With this win, Houston is now three points away from a playoffs spot.

The Kansas City Current defeated the San Diego Wave 2-1 on Saturday evening. Brazilian international Debinha scored a banger from outside the area in the 3’, to get the scoring going very early in the match. Captain Kristen Hamilton doubled Kansas City’s lead in the 22’ when she fired into net after a great collective play.

Sierra Enge pulled one back for her team in the 50’ after a corner kick, but Kansas City hung on for the win. With this result, San Diego sits in second position in the table, whereas Kansas City is four points away from the playoffs spots.

Liga MX Femenil

The Liga MX Femenil is starting to solidify who will get to play the Liguilla of the Torneo de Apertura after 11 weeks of play.

The Clasico Nacional took place on Sunday evening, in which current champions Club America made a 2-1 comeback win against Chivas. Captain Alicia Cervantes scored the first goal in the 35’ after driving the ball forward and beating the goalkeeper. Kiana Palacios equalized things in the 75’ when she found a spot between the post and the Chivas GK after her initial attempt was saved.

The winning goal came in the 89’ via a header by Miah Zuazua, who was subbed on just minutes before, being ready in the area to intercept the ball and give Club America the win. This result leaves the Aguilas in second place, while Chivas is just behind in the third position.

Puebla returned to the victory column after three games, topping Cruz Azul 2-0 on Sunday afternoon. Camila Fonseca scored first when she got past the Cruz Azul defense and sent the ball to the back of the net in the 14’. Aisha Solorzano then found herself alone in front of the goalkeeper in the 83’, not missing her chance, scoring the second and final goal of the day.

Liga Femenina Costa Rica

The Torneo de Clausura of Costa Rica is taking shape as to which teams will go on to the next phase of the tournament.

Sporting FC and LD Alajuelense faced each other on Saturday evening to determine who would be in first place in the table, with the locals from Sporting taking a 1-0 win. It wasn’t until the 74’ when Candela Andujar found the back of the net, giving Sporting the vital three points.

CS Herediano and COFUTPA finished with a 2-2 tie on Saturday evening. The goals arrived in the second half, Maria Jose Garro scoring the first one in the 54’ for home side Herediano.

Medoly Guerrero of COFUTPA equalized in the 57’ with a volley after a defensive error. Guerrero would score a second goal in the 73’, reaching the area and finding a spot between the post and the GK.

The last minutes of the game left everyone on their feet, Alejandra Montero found a way to score the second goal for Herediano, tying the game in the 90+5’, resulting in a point each.
