After scoring six goals during England’s Euro 2022 success, Beth Mead is now just four goals off becoming the all-time top scorer in the competition.
Beth Mead was the brightest star in England’s Euro 2022 winning team and after the competition she was named player of the tournament following a phenomenal six game run.
The Arsenal and England superstar finished joint-top scorer at the tournament with six goals alongside Germany’s Alexandra Popp.
Both Popp and Mead made history at Euro 2022 by becoming just the second and third players respectively to score six goals in a single championship, after Inka Grings completed the feat in 2009.
With six goals in her debut tournament, Mead is now in a great position to hunt down some of the greatest to ever feature on the international stage.
Following her golden boot in 2022, the 30-year-old is just four goals away from becoming the top scorer in European Championship history.

There is no doubt that Mead has a great chance of becoming the Championship’s all-time top scorer this summer and if Sarina Wiegman’s squad is to go far in the tournament, the Arsenal forward is sure to play an important role.
Following Euro 2022, Mead struggled with what could have been a career-ending injury, but after an extensive recovery from tearing her ACL the golden boot winner was finally able to return to the pitch shortly after the World Cup.
Mead’s absence in 2023 certainly played a factor in the Lionesses defeat late in the competition and her return will be welcome this year.
It was Lauren James who stepped up for England at the World Cup with five goals of her own but in a seemingly never ending injury merry-go-round, James is now struggling for fitness before this summer’s Euros in Switzerland.
