Rio Ferdinand believes Tottenham have done the best transfer business this summer

Speaking in an interview on Vibe with Five as quoted by Football. London, Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has claimed that he thinks Spurs have had the best transfer window this time around.

Ferdinand in particular mentioned Yves Bissouma and Richarlison. The former Brighton man is tipped to become one of Spurs’ best players this season and the Brazilian offers Antonio Conte something very different.

Speaking about the duo and the business that Spurs have done in general, Rio Ferdinand had a lot of good things to say

“Kulusevski, him and Bentancur are two wicked signings. You saw last season, they came in hit the ground running. I would argue that Spurs have had the best window. Bissouma, starts in that team, is going to make a difference, Richarlison, gives them another dimension.”

Spurs have definitely had one of the better transfer windows in the Premier League but for it to be called the best, then there is no doubt that the Lilywhites will have to win the elusive trophy this season.

There is also a feeling that Spurs feel very top-heavy this season and that is something that could backfire for sure. There is no denying that in Harry Kane, Son, Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski, Spurs have arguably one of the best attacks in the PL.

Throw in Lucas Moura and Ivan Perisic who can also play in those positions and Bryan Gil who is yet to leave the club, and there is absolutely no shortage of options for players who can occupy the forward regions.

Yves Bissouma is a great signing no doubt and he can pair with Rodrigo Bentancur to good effect but the options behind these two do not offer much confidence except for maybe Hojberg.

Then comes the question of defence where Spurs have signed Clement Lenglet on loan. Whilst the Frenchman is talented, he fell down the pecking order at Barcelona due to his inconsistency and it remains to be seen how that pans out.

Only a trophy will prove that Antonio Conte’s summer business has been successful. The serial winner knows how to make a club win silverware and if he does that, then Rio Ferdinand’s claims may be justified after all.
