The new Bundesliga season is about to begin and there are are plenty of new faces.
We’ve squeezed 11 players into a realistic enough looking 3-4-3 formation that we think would cause some serious waves if this was a team entering the league.
Bayern Munich to Stuttgart, loan
After two seasons on loan with Monaco, Nübel is back and determined to prove he can succeed Manuel Neuer at Bayern with a stint at Stuttgart.
Lyon to RB Leipzig, €30m
A huge get for Leipzig, who continue to dominate the market when it comes to young talent from France. The 20-year-old reads the game well, is strong in possession and has already been a regular for Lyon for two seasons.
Napoli to Bayern Munich, €50m
Fresh from leading Napoli to the Serie A title in his sole season in Italy, the South Korean international is the complete defender and ready to bolster Bayern’s bid for twelfth successive title.
Gladbach to Dortmund, free
Capable of filling in at centre-back, the Algerian will play at left-back for Dortmund having joined from Gladbach. A solid defender with an eye for goal, Bensebaini is also a potential penalty taker.
Gladbach to Leverkusen, €10m
One of the league’s most creative players in recent seasons despite playing for an ailing Gladbach side, Hofmann should have the platform to shine under Xabi Alonso.
Köln to Frankfurt, free
An absolutely rock solid performer at the base of the Köln midfield, Skhiri is excellent in possession and has the physicality to dominate opponents and games. One to watch in his new colours and an important role under new Frankfurt boss Dino Toppmöller.
Arsenal to Leverkusen, €15m
Xhaka returns to the Bundesliga after seven years with Arsenal off the back of his strongest season in north London. Leverkusen are being tipped as dark horses for the title by many and he will be crucial in those efforts.
Dortmund to Bayern Munich, free
Seven years have passed since Mats Hummels moved to Bayern from Dortmund, now another player has trodden that familiar path. Currently injured, Guerreiro will be expected to add guile when he returns to fitness and competes with Alphonso Davies for a place at left-back, though he was also used in midfield by Dortmund last season and by Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel when he was in the Dortmund dugout.
RC Lens to RB Leipzig, €38.5m
Leipzig’s new record signing, Openda scored 21 goals in Ligue 1 last season and will be a huge goal threat for Marco Rose’s side as they look to replace Christopher Nkunku.
Tottenham to Bayern Munich, €100m
Does this one really need explaining? Kane arrives as the biggest transfer in Bundesliga history and will be eyeing Robert Lewandowski’s record of 41 goals in a single season.
Union SG to Leverkusen, €20.5m
A well-rounded centre-forward, Boniface will be tasked with linking play and finding the back of the net for Leverkusen. He hasn’t been prolific in his career to date but they have bet big on the Nigerian to fire them up the table.
