Liga MX Clausura started last month and after seven matchdays, the league table is beginning to take shape.
León currently lead the Clausura, unbeaten at this stage and inspired by their star signing James Rodríguez, who has four assists to his name since signing. Hot on their heels are the reigning champions Club América, with just one loss all season.
Juárez are one of the surprise packages at this stage of the season. Five wins from nine, their shock win against Tigres last time out saw Los Bravos level their record for wins during the entire Apertura.
Other teams to mention are Pachuca and Necaxa who find themselves in the Liguilla position whilst Cruz Azul are down in eighth after finishing top of the Apertura table.
At the other end of the table, Santos Laguna and San Luis took just one win from their opening nine games with the former desperate to build on a 2-0 win against Atlas in Gameweek Nine as the latter have suffered five straight defeats.

A transfer that caused a global stir. James Rodríguez ripped up his contract with Rayo Vallecano agreeing to a move to Mexico for regular game time. So far, his move has been nothing short of a success. León are top of the Clausura, despite failing to reach the Apertura playoffs. Across his first eight games for the club, the magician has six goal contributions, linking perfectly with fellow Colombian Stiven Mendoza and Jhonder Cadíz.

Club America are chasing a fourth-straight Liga MX title and Alex Zendejas has been at the heart of everything good for Las Águilas to kickstart the season. Three goals, and four assists in seven games. Zendejas has stepped up since the start of Clausura with key opening goals against León and Puebla, and a brace against Santos Laguna in his opening appearance of 2025. The last outing against Pumas was the only time that the US international failed to register a goal contribution.

Five goals and two assists to start the season, Jhonder Cadíz has settled excellent since joining the club from Famalicão in the Portuguese topflight. Scoring one-on-ones and from all sorts of tight angles, Cadíz is a natural goalscorer and with the form his León side are in, its going to take a lot to stop the Venezuelan right now.

The rise of Necaxa and León in the Clausura has drawn attention away from teams like Toluca but they have been going about their business casually and Alexis Vega has been one of their star players. A true playmaker, the former Chivas midfielder has eight goal contributions including three goals. In a team that features Paulinho, Jesús Angulo and Helio Junio, Vega has all the firepower around him to keep the good times coming, but can he bring a 12 Liga MX title to Los Diablos Rojos.

The player of the Clausura at the time of writing is Necaxa's dangerman, Diber Cambindo. A man who cannot stop scoring, the Colombian has hit the back of the net nine times in as many games and has shot his side right up the league. A dismal end to the Apertura saw Necaxa fall out of the Liguilla places but there is no doubt about their intentions for the Clausura with goals against Cruz Azul and Club América joining the 29-year-old's braces against San Luis and Santos Laguna at the halfway mark of the regular season.
