Leicester City centre-back Caleb Okoli and Leeds United winger Wilfried Gnonto were the two highest-rated Italy players currently based outside Serie A during the weekend’s round of fixtures.

Okoli received individual praise from the local press for his performance in the Midlands derby against Aston Villa in the Premier League, despite coming away with a 2-1 loss. It was the 23-year-old’s first start in the Premier League.

Gnonto, though not on the scoresheet this weekend, also came away with a rating of 7 from Leeds’s 2-0 win over Hull City in the EFL Championship.

Riccardo Calafiori got more minutes off the bench during the 1-1 draw with Brighton, coming on to help his team while down to 10 men. Lots of Arsenal supporters were encouraged by what they saw from the Italy international.

Ciro Immobile was the only Italian in Europe (outside Serie A) to get themselves on the scoresheet this weekend, converting a first-half penalty during Besiktas’s 2-0 win over Svissapsor.
