The best FPL team for Gameweek 3 is brought to you by top Fantasy Premier League pundit Holly Shand.
She delves into the Fantasy Football Hub points prediction tool to draw out the best squad for Gameweek 3. And after missing out last week, Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) is once again left out in the cold.
Don’t forget to check out our Ultimate Guide to FPL, which has everything you need to help you make the best decisions ahead of the deadline.
It’s no surprise to see the FPL Gameweek 3 player predictions dominated by the premium players, but there is a perhaps unexpected pick at the top.
Jamie Vardy (£9.5m), with a home game against Southampton, pips Son Heung-min (£12.0m) and Salah to top spot.
Vardy already has one attacking return this season, an assist against Brentford.
Leicester have scored six goals so far this season, a league high.
Southampton meanwhile have conceded six goals in their opening two games.
Gabriel Jesus (£8.0m) becomes the second striker in this team in a 3-5-2 formation. There was no room for a premium forward.
Jesus was the outstanding player of Gameweek 2, registering four goal involvements in the 4-2 defeat of Leicester.
He also topped the charts for shots on target.
Son is the premium pick for the midfield – he has one assist so far this season and six shots in the box.
Spurs are expected to prosper when they host Wolves.
With the budget tight, we are forced to consider midfielders priced at £8.0m or under.
Gabriel Martinelli (£6.2m) deserves his call up, after scoring two goals in two games.
The Brazilian has scored his two goals from two big chances, while also creating five chances.
His link-up play with Jesus seems to be prevailing.
Martinelli is joined by teammate Bukayo Saka (£8.0m),who has one assist for the season.
James Maddison (£8.0m) and Phil Foden (£8.0m) provide the final pieces of the jigsaw: Maddison has managed attacking returns in consecutive games, with the most shots (8) of any player so far this season.
Foden managed four successful crosses during his first-half performance against Bournemouth last time out.
This is certainly a big-at-the-back lineup.
Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.5m), who managed to create more chances (90) than any other player in the game last season, leads the way. He has created six chances so far this campaign.
Reece James (£6.0m) had mixed headlines in Gameweek 2 but found himself on the scoresheet after moving from right centre-back to right wing-back towards the end of the 2-2 draw with Chelsea.
Cristian Romero (£5.0m) completes the lineup with the budget stretched.
Spurs are still waiting for their first clean sheet this season but on the attacking side, Romero has had two shots in the box in two games.
With the budget restricted, Jordan Pickford (£4.5m) becomes the final piece of the jigsaw, with six saves so far this season.
Everton host promoted Nottingham Forest in Gameweek 3.
The predicted points best FPL team contains a triple up on Arsenal’s attack, plus a double up on Spurs and Leicester City.
According to the My Team tool, it’s projected to score 69.0 points.
