Forwards are gathering momentum in FPL this season, with five of them already surpassing 50 points to date, including some budget friendly options.
So, who are the top ten FPL picks by predicted points going into the FPL Gameweek 10?

Ollie Watkins is now on over 50 FPL points for the season, having delivered a consistent five goals and two assists from the opening nine gameweeks. Four of those goal involvements have come on the road, which is significant with a trip to Spurs up next. It’s a fixture Watkins scored in last campaign, with Aston Villa coming away the 2-1 victors. Watkins is second only to Erling Haaland for big chances on goal this season, with 12 and has been unlucky not to deliver more.
Heung-min Son was a popular replacement for the injury doubt Bukayo Saka last time out, before being ruled out of the trip to Crystal Palace himself. He’s expected to be back fit for the visit of Aston Villa, having started just six games this season. All five of his goal involvements for the campaign have come at home, while Aston Villa have yet to keep a clean sheet on the road. It is assumed that when on the pitch, Son remains Spurs first choice penalty taker.
Over 200,000 managers purchased Manchester City’s Phil Foden ahead of a plum home tie against Southampton, but despite creating five chances, including one big chance, he failed to come away with an attacking return. Foden ranks second for chances created over the last three gameweeks and so there’s hopes that he can improve on his one assist for the season when Manchester City face Bournemouth on Saturday.
Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak has impressed since returning from injury, with a leading six shots and four big chances on goal in the last two gameweeks. He’s been unlucky to only have one goal to show for his efforts in this time. Team-mate Callum Wilson remains on the sidelines, so expect more 90 minute appearances from Isak. The visit of Arsenal may appear tough on paper, but the Gunners are without a clean sheet in their last five and could be without Gabriel for this game.
Wolves’ attractive spell of fixtures is finally here, beginning with the visit of Crystal Palace to Molineux – a side who are without a clean sheet on the road this season. Despite challenging fixtures, Cunha has already accumulated four goals this season and we can now expect him to push on given his fixture ease over the next eight gameweeks. He ranks third among forwards for shots on goal this season, with 27. It’s also thought that he is their first choice penalty taker.
Fulham striker Raul Jimenez has rolled back the years since winning the number nine shirt, with four goals and one assist from six Premier League starts this season. This includes goals in all three home games he has started, a trend which could well continue for the visit of Brentford. The Bees are yet to keep a clean sheet this season, conceding 18 goals in this time. Jimenez has had the same number of big chances (4) as Erling Haaland in the last six gameweeks.
Arsenal talisman Bukayo Saka is back fit and immediately back in the top ten ahead of the trip to Newcastle United, having produced ten goal involvements from eight starts this campaign. His only blank came in the 4-2 win against Leicester City, a game in which he registered bonus points. Saka has provided three assists from three away appearances this season. Saka’s routes to points are plentiful, leading the way for key passes (27) and big chances created (12), plus he’s on penalties.
Chelsea’s Cole Palmer delivered his 12th goal involvement of the season against Newcastle United last time out, to remain in control for attacking output in this campaign. He’s the highest scoring player in the game over the last four gameweeks, with a leading 17 shots on goal. Palmer is a boyhood Manchester United fan, scoring four goals in two appearances against them last season. A change of manager could give his opponents a boost this week, but the AI still predicts Palmer to deliver significant points.
Manchester City’s Erling Haaland ended his drought with a goal against Southampton last time out and was perhaps unfortunate to not deliver more in the 1-0 win, having had a leading eight shots on goal, including four big chances. Manchester City face Bournemouth next, with Haaland producing an assist in this fixture last season. He remains in control in the Golden Boot race, with 11 goals for the season, but it’s not good enough for him to top the standings this week.
Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah remains the only player to keep Haaland from being the go-to captain pick in any given gameweek this season. He’s produced consecutive double digit hauls in Liverpool’s toughest fixtures of the season so far against Chelsea and Arsenal. He should be backed for the visit of Brighton, with 15 goal involvements in 14 appearances against them. Salah is the highest scoring player in FPL points terms this season, with 11 goal involvements in nine appearances and just two blanks.
