According to Foot Mercato, Turkish side Beşiktaş are in negotiations to sign Cameroon forward Vincent Aboubakar following his contract termination with Saudi club Al-Nassr, in order to make way for the mega-money signing of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Beşiktaş will be looking to sign the 30-year old for the third time, having played for Istanbul-based side in two previous spells: the 2016/17 season, and 2020/21 season in which he scored 35 goals in a total of 67 matches in the Super Lïg.
In fact, they are aiming to bring in Aboubakar in order to cover the imminent departure of Wout Weghorst to Manchester United in a loan move from parent club Burnley until the end of season – as reported by Foot Mercato yesterday. Fabrizio Romano added that there will be a €10m option to buy the Dutchman in the deal.
Meanwhile, a deal for Aboubakar woyld be on a free transfer after his contract with Al-Nassr was terminated, which only requires an agreement to be made between the player/agent side and Beşiktaş.
