Besiktas have officially withdrawn from the race for out-of-favor Juventus attacker Federico Chiesa.
The Italian winger was recently linked to the Turkish club, in addition to the likes of Roma and Napoli, as he is still without a team and frozen out of Juve’s squad.
The vice-president of the Turkish club, Hüseyin Yücel, spoke to TRT Sport about the negotiation for the Juventus attacking winger, explaining how the player is no longer part of Besiktas’ plans.
“Federico Chiesa has recently been linked to Besiktas and continues to do so. It’s true that we’ve been talking about him for about 10 days. I would like to point out that the player has an expected salary of around 9 million euros, with a request from Juve of around 15 million.”
“There are currently seven clubs tracking him, but the financial requests are not very logical and it doesn’t seem possible to satisfy them.”
“From today Chiesa is no longer on Besiktas’ agenda: the interests of the club are much more important than the names of the players. We are aware of our shortcomings, we will work hard until the last day of the transfer session.”
