Besiktas close to signing young goalkeeper Madou Diakité
According to reports in the African football press, Malian international goalkeeper Madou Diakité is about to get a new professional experience in one of the giants of Turkish football, Besiktas, after the Turkish club showed great interest in signing the 21-year-old young goalkeeper.
The Turkish club's management believes that some technical reinforcements for the upcoming season will do the trick for the upcoming season. The Malian international is currently training with Beşiktaş's technical staff and hopes to reach an agreement with the management and impress them with his performance, although the player is currently on loan in the Finnish league with FC Veikkausliiga KTP on loan from US Triestina of Italy.
The talented Malian defender stands at a pivotal moment in his young career. Should his transfer to Besiktas be finalized, Diakité would commit for three seasons - though with an immediate loan move until 2026 designed to guarantee crucial playing time. This strategic move could accelerate his development before returning to Istanbul as a more polished player.
Diakité's journey continues to fascinate. Just last year, the former Lazio target chose to represent Mali, immediately making his mark by helping their U23 squad clinch third place at the African Nations Championship in Morocco. That penalty shootout victory over Guinea (0-0, 4-3 on pens) showcased the composure that makes him such an intriguing prospect.
