Kortrijk have moved quickly to replace Yves Vanderhaeghe as head coach. The experienced Belgian, in his third spell at the club, was sacked after just two months in charge. The club have once again turned to a previous head coach, with German Bernd Storck returning for a second spell. During his last spell, Storck helped save the side from relegation. However, the situation was certainly not as dire as it is now. He takes over the side in second bottom of the Pro League, 11 points adrift of safety.
The sides best hope of survival looks set to be trying to finish 14th and fight it out in the relegation play off match against the side that wins the Challenger Pro League play-offs. They will firstly need to close the five point gap to Sint Truiden. They will certainly be a bottom four side, so will have to face three other teams in the relegation play downs. Last year, Kortrijk did manage to finish in 14th and won the play-off final against Lommel.
