Manchester City are now 12 points ahead of their neighbours after a 3-1 derby victory at the Etihad Stadium.
Though manager Pep Guardiola said before the match that they couldn’t write off Manchester United’s title hopes even if they lost, Bernardo Silva doesn’t share the same sentiment.
“It won’t be easy. Not only Man City – [they are] 10 points from Liverpool, a lot of points from the other ones as well.
“They need to be almost perfect and wait for the other ones to lose a lot of points. I think it won’t be easy.”
After 12 matches last season, Manchester City had already created an eight-point gap atop the Premier League table.
Despite dropping just four points and scoring a ridiculous 36 goals through their first 12 games, City only have a two-point lead on Liverpool, while Chelsea also remain unbeaten just four points behind.
“We know it won’t be easy this season,” Silva said. “Liverpool are doing a fantastic Premier League as well.
“We want to try to and have a bigger gap during the months of December and January, where you have a lot of games. We will work very hard for that and try to improve on this.”
